Callier Center

In person. UT Dallas’ Callier Center for Communication Disorders offers support to children and adults with speech, language and hearing disorders. The center offers several summer camps for children and teens. This year, the camp previously known as the Cochlear Implant Camp is refreshing its name to Summer Listening Camp in order to include children who use hearing aids in addition to those who have cochlear implants. The weeklong day camp gives children ages 4-11 who have hearing loss and wear cochlear implants or hearing aids an opportunity to receive listening and speech-language therapy while participating in fun camp activities. Other offerings include Camp Interact, a therapeutic one-week day camp for children finishing first through fifth grade who have social communication difficulties, and Summer Reading Camp, a twice-weekly offering to help 6- to 10-year-olds who have difficulty learning to read. New this year is a twice-weekly Summer Language Camp for elementary-age children who are fluent readers. It is designed to improve reading and listening comprehension and vocabulary skills. Visit the Callier Center camps webpage for more information.

Chess

Online. Presented by the UT Dallas chess program, one of the top collegiate programs in the U.S., the weeklong camps provide high-level training for beginning, intermediate and advanced players ages 8-17. For more information, visit the summer chess camps webpage.

Information Technology and Systems
